When I was living in London many guys who came to me told me that they liked that I wrote in a very personal way on my website and they felt that they could better relate to me because of this. That made me really happy as for me one of the most important things about what I do is to really and truly connect with other men. So I wanted to write a little about why I do what I do and the journey that has brought me to where I am.

I was born in a little fishing village in Ireland, the youngest son of a big family. As a child I always felt different. Growing up was not easy in a small Irish Catholic village where being different was not something that was easily accepted by people. I quickly realised that religion was not for me, it just seemed to be too divisive, yet I felt there was something else around me, something purer and older than that. Later I was to discover that what I could feel and was so affected by was energy pure and simple.

As a teenager I was fascinated by sex and art. The two things to me seemed to be intrinsically linked. I was so drawn to art, music and language as they seemed to be non-destructive and empowering forms of expression. From a young age I loved figurative art. I remember visiting Rome as a young child and marvelling at the beautiful marble statues of naked men, their muscles rippling and seeming to come alive before my very eyes.

I had always wanted to study art at university but due to illness in my teenage years my education was interrupted to such an extent that I was not able to concentrate enough to enter university. However years later at the age of 31, having previously worked as an escort and porno model for some years, I ended up working as an artists’ model in London.

It was one of the best choices I had ever made as I got to learn about art and more importantly anatomy. Life modelling for me was sex, art, anatomy and expression all rolled into one. It was amazing. I got to meet some incredibly talented artists and sculptors who inspired me and for a while I ran my own drawing session where I taught other life models.

By chance I was lucky enough to meet a friend who had previously been a life model but who now worked as a masseur. She told me about tantric massage and suggested that I do a course. Well, 3 years later, here I am living in Spain and working as a fulltime masseur.

You could say my life has always had an air of seredipity about it! I will write another time about my experience working as an escort in London, but this time I just wanted to explain why I am where I am.

I now very much believe in the Law of Attraction and that we are drawn to a certain energy in life, that there is a path for each and every one of us. For me massage gives the the chance to express myself and combines all of my loves. It is an artistic expression just as much an a therapuetic service. When I am massaging someone I get lost in the rythumn and sensations. It’s beautiful. It is also incredibly cathartic and for me it centers and focuses me. We have all felt disconnected from ourselves from time to time, a feeling that we are lost at sea. When I am standing at the massage table I sometimes visualise roots growing out of the soles of my feet to ground me firmly to the earth. I used to use the same technique when I was a life model, standing in the one pose for up to 5 or 6 months when posing for a sculpture. I think it’s so important to feel grounded in whatever we are doing and to feel that we are connected to the world around us.

Massage, I believe, creates that connection between not only the giver and the receiver but also the world around us. It is a way to connect ourselves to all of this wonderful natural energy around us and to feel safe and centered in the world.

Anyway, so that was a far less sexual blog entry today, but I thought I’d share that with you.

Be well, safe and happy. Aaron x
